Mist descends on Glaslyn, Pumlummon, Wales
Glaslyn is a small natural lake on the northern flanks of Pumlummon. The area is currently designated as a nature reserve, with measures in place to limit grazing by sheep and promote regeneration of the surrounding heather moorland for the benefit of Red Grouse and other species.
It's been a glorious spring day but now the sun is setting, the breeze has dropped and a thin band of mist is beginning to form over the water. A Common Toad is calling in the reeds close by and Canada Geese are gathering for the night. A small group of Teal with several ducklings paddle by and finally, as dusk approaches, amidst the waterfowl a couple of Red Grouse can be heard making their distinctive grating call from the high ground above the lake.
